Bibliographic Instruction
Harold P. Erickson Library staff work collaboratively with faculty to integrate Information Literacy Outcomes into the college curriculum. Instruction sessions are developed around research assignments. Library staff can assist in the development of research assignments for both campus and online courses.

Course Reserves
Instructors may place course materials at the library Circulation Desk for students to access for short term check out. Most loan periods are two-hours. Video and DVD players are available in the small group study rooms. Simply drop off your materials along with this completed form
. Reserve materials are located in the catalog under Course Reserves.

Research Assistance
Librarians at Lake Superior College are skilled information professionals who can answer your reference questions, assist with complex research and locate curriculum-related resources for you. Stop by the Reference Desk or email

Collection Development
In addition to housing thousands of  titles recommended for academic libraries, our growing collection consists of course specific, curriculum-driven books, journals and instructional videos. Direct your students to supplementary course reading with a specialized bibliography compiled by our staff.

Faculty can create customized resource pages for their classes using Course Quickstart. Library staff members are available to assist faculty members with the set-up and management of these pages.

Films on Demand is a streaming media company. 

What is Streaming Media?  The Library provides access to thousands of educational videos (including clips) to support your curriculum through streaming media.  Streaming media is similar to YouTube, except the content comes from authoritative and verified sources.  Subjects range from:

Family & Consumer Sciences

Through the Library's subscription to Films on Demand, faculty, staff, and students at LSC can take advantage of this web-based digital video delivery system 24/7.  Look for Films on Demand under Quicklinks [on the left side panel].
